TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Mild stroke or 'mini-stroke', also known as a transient ischemic attack (TIA), is a condition of temporary dysfunction of the blood flow in the brain which causes symptoms similar to a stroke that lasts for minutes or hours. Despite its name, this condition should not be ignored, since it could be a sign of a bigger risk for stroke. To better understand TIA, it is necessary to know and be aware of the risk factors that could cause it.

1. Blockage in your blood flow

Mild stroke is caused by a temporary disruption in the blood flow which can be caused by a blood clot or atherosclerosis plaque in the blood vessel. This disruption can block the blood and oxygen from appropriately entering the brain which can cause difficulty to talk, weakness, and numbness.
