Douglas Barr is an American actor, writer, and director born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in May 1949. He first starred as Buzz Dillard in the television series When the Whistle Blows in 1980. Barr’s most notable role was as Howie Munson in the TV series The Fall Guy from 1981 to 1986. He also had a recurring role as Bill Stillfield in the television series Designing Women from 1987 to 1991.
Barr has directed the TV series Sweet Valley High from 1994 to 1996 and wrote or directed for several TV movies. In 2011 he was nominated for a Directors Guild of America Award for Secrets of the Mountain. Additionally, Barr started a wine producer in Napa Valley called Hollywood and Vine Cellars in 1998.
