Janice was born to Maria Pugh and later adopted by Charlie and Marion Wynn. She received her formal education as a student of the Suffolk Public School system. She was employed in many fields throughout her life. She retired from a management role after working for Citi Trends for 10 years. As a resident of Petersburg, Virginia, Janice was loved by many. Everyone who came in contact with her, has their own special memory, or stories but they all have one thing in common, “God”. She loved GOD and she never let that go unknown. To know her was to truly love her.
Janice was preceded in her expedition to rest by her parents; son, Ezra O. Wynn; sister, Marion Wynn; brother, Nathaniel James Pugh; and one brother-in-law, Bobby Block. She leaves to cherish her memories, and celebrate her life: her husband, Shelby D. Simmons; four children: Erica Wynn, Shelise Tucker, Ralph Tucker, III and Jokari Tucker; four stepchildren: Antonie Hodges, Anthony Taylor, Sr., Shelby Demps and Zajae Murphy; ten grandchildren: Jakira Tucker, Jalicia Carter, Jaliyuah Tucker, Jamiyah Tucker, Ajayla Wynn, Kamariah Cost, Daquan Brown, Shaquana Brown, Nykira Taylor, Anthony Taylor, Jr. and Leila Taylor; three great grandchildren: Ky’Ree Tucker, Kailee Tucker and Khari Dyson; brother, Dennis Pugh; mother-in-law, Ernestine Barnes; three sisters-in-law: Denise Barnes, Ludrena Williams and Subrena Williams; one brother-in-law, Michael Block; one special niece, Yolanda Winkler; a special friend, Linda Knight; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
