Tristyn Bailey’s funeral details are yet to be revealed by her family. A 13-year-old, Tristyn Bailey, was brutally tortured and killed in 2021.

On Monday, a disturbed Florida teen, Aiden Fucci, entered a surprise guilty plea to the murder of 13-year-old Tristyn Bailey, a cheerleader in a quiet suburb of Jacksonville.

Fucci, who was 14 years old at the time of the crime, was charged as an adult and is facing life in prison, with the possibility of a sentence review after 25 years.

The murder occurred in 2021, and Fucci was set to face trial on the same day he entered his guilty plea.

What happened to Tristyn bailey?

Tristyn Bailey was last seen on surveillance footage socializing with Fucci on May 9, 2021, in St. Johns County and another classmate before she disappeared.

She was later found dead in a wooded area near her community, with 114 stab wounds and a piece of the murder weapon broken off in her skull. Her body was found 3 miles away from Fucci’s house.

Prosecutors and the St. John’s County Sheriff’s Department reported that Tristyn had many defensive wounds, indicating a violent struggle for her life.

When the prosecutors questioned Fucci, he made excuses but later admitted to being with her right before she disappeared. Upon searching his house, the police found the clothes he was wearing the other day with blood all over it.

According to friends and detectives, Fucci had a troubled home life and struggled with dark fantasies and voices in his head. He openly fantasized about violence and murder in the months following the killing and chose Tristyn as his target in a fit of rage.

He would often draw pictures of mutilated bodies and confide in his friends about hearing voices telling him to kill innocents.

Fucci’s mother was also arrested and charged with evidence tampering after she attempted to wash the blood out of her son’s gore-soaked jeans after the incident.

Fucci himself has been repeatedly cited for misconduct while in jail, bragging about the crime and threatening both inmates and staff.

The plea agreement entered by Fucci did not offer him any leniency in sentencing, and he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

The case against Fucci was strong, with evidence including emails from a school resource officer that showed Fucci’s friends claimed the murder was premeditated and that he had spoken about wanting to kill something in the woods.

The St. Johns County Sheriff praised the investigation as an “all-out” effort to bring Fucci to justice and support the Bailey family.

“Foremost, we would like to give thanks to God,” he said in a statement. “Since this nightmare began, we have had the love and support of so many. We know so many have lifted Tristyn, our family, and her friends up in prayer. The members of our community have been simply exceptional in the support they have given us.”

Fucci remains in custody and is due back in court on Feb. 23.
